Edward St. John (center), Founder and Chairman of St. John Properties, Inc., is surrounded by students of McDonogh School during last week’s ribbon-cutting ceremony of the 72,000 square foot Edward St. John Student Center, a four-story structure featuring two dining halls that can accommodate 500 students, fine and performing arts studios, the Tuttle Gallery, a 171-seat lyceum and an updated infirmary. The building is the latest project completed by The McDonogh Forever Campaign, which was funded in-part through a gift from the Edward St. John Foundation, Inc., which has pledged or donated more than $50 million to more than 350 educational and non-profit organizations since its inception. The mission of the Foundation is based on the strong belief that education has the power to transform lives and strengthen communities. The orange sunglasses signify the event’s theme of “The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades.”
